Am looking for anyone that is researching the WILLS family from Greene Co. I desperately need help. I am researching a Martha WILLS born ca 1820. I am not sure if WILLS is her maiden name or married name. I am sure she is somehow tied to Jacob WILLS born ca 1804. Martha's childern were Elender (f) b.ca1841, Emily Jane b. ca 1844, Viny b ca1846, and Jacob Asbury b ca 1849. Also there was a Elender WILLS born ca 1764 in NC living with Martha in 1850 in GREENE CO. If anyone has any info, please email me. Any thing will help.

HANKINS/ROACH/DANIEL/BESHIRES/BOSHERS
I have a very old picture, that was given to me by my grandfather William Marse BESHIRES's sister.This picture is of my great grandmother & father, Lucinda DANIEL & Christopher Columbus "Lum" BESHIRES, sometimes spelled BESHIERS, BOSHERS, or BRASHERS. In this picture, my grandmother is wearing a Native Amer.dress and her hair is in 2 braids. She also has a bead necklace on. I am at a loss as to which nation she belongs. Her mother was Nancy "Nann" HANKINS and father James William DANIEL. He was from Madison Co. I think that she got her Native Amer. heritage, through her mother, as tradition dictates. I also have a picture of Lucinda's sister, Alice HENSON, in a dress that appears to be of Native Amer. in nature. Is there anyone who can help me with this, by looking at the style of these dresses? I can send pictures via e-mail.Lum and Lucinda were married in Hardeman Co. on 4-11-1891, Chester Co. Lum's parents lived in Hardin Co., at Shiloh Park, in the peach orchard cabin,1862. I am researching ALEXANDER LEWIS MOOREHEAD who died during a cholera epidemic in Greenville, Tennessee on June 28, 1873. He was buried in a mass grave. I am searching for all information on James BOWLIN b. about 1812 and married Ruth WALDEN 2/29/1831 in Greene Co. James BOWLIN was the fifth son of Joshua BOWLIN/BOLEYN who is listed in the 1830 census for that county. Joshua BOWLIN was the brother of Edmund BOWLIN/BOLEYN, a veteran of the Revolutionary War. James BOWLIN had brothers William, Joshua, Edmund and Benjamin Franklin. I have information on these brothers but not on James. It is speculation that James BOWLIN married a second time to Susan BARKSDALE and later moved to MO. Susan BARKSDALE was also born in TN. Would like information of James, b. 1838 in Greene County,Tn. Died ?, Married Mary (Pett) Pitt on Jan. 31,1858. children: James F.; Babe, b.1865; John b. 1865 (were probably twins) ; Lerame b. 1783, Elizabeth b.1874. All born in Greene County. James F. married Julia Ida Quinn and they are buried at Mount Vernon Methodist Church Cemetery. My information tells me that Julia died in childbirth and is buried with both her children. HAWS
Looking for information on Raphael HAWS (also called Rafe Haws) born about 1800 location unknown, and possibly buried in Bacon Cemetery, in or near Greeneville, Tennessee. Family history shows that a son, John Francis Haws was born at Haws Crossroads in Washington County near Jonesborough, Tennessee Dec 17, 1823 and married Nancy Russell (born Dec 1, 1823). John Francis Haws and Nancy Russell Haws had three sons, all born in Greeneville, Tennessee, John Bell Haws (born 1860), Robert Russell Haws, (born Aug 12, 1853) and James Montgomery Haws, (birth date unknown). John Francis Haws and his family moved to Gueda Springs, Kansas in 1874 where he died in 1914, and his sons eventually moved to Oklahoma.

I am looking for any information on JAMES R ISBELL, his son WILLIAM ISBELL married MARY JANE FRANKLIN-WOODS from TN. They married in Texas. JAMES R ISBELL was a doctor in Greenville, left there about 1835 and came to Texas with his sons JAMES and JOHN and ALEXANDER. JAMES R ISBELL died in Austin co, Texas 1843. CANTRELL/FRY(FRYE)
Hello,I am Dr. Richard Cantrell and I was raised in Albany, Georgia. I was born in 1954 and my father was James Howard Cantrell. He was born in March 1915 or 1916, probably in Tennessee, his father was Marion CANTRELL. He supposedly was married to a Cherokee Indian, last name FRYE or FRY. As both grandparents passed on prior to my birth and my father spoke little of them except of his Indian heritage, I have little to go on. I know that my Grandparents were married in Tennessee probably at the turn of the century give or take ten years but I don't know the county or anything like that and I know that the Cantrell's came to Tennessee from Georgia or South Carolina. I am searching for the parents of Lucretia WHITEHURST b. Feb. 1856 d. 1929. She had brother's Thomas W. WHITEHURST and "Bud" WHITEHURST. Lucretia married Daniel "Dan" RICKER, Jr. b. MORRISON/HARWOOD/DAVIDSON
I am looking for the parents of William MORRISON and his wife's (Elizabeth) surname. William was probably born (not sure) in western North Carolina in about 1803. He married Elizabeth in either western North Carolina or southern Virginia (next to east Tennessee) in about 1820. William and Elizabeth's oldest child was Mary Ann MORRISON, sometimes called Polly, who was born on 17 Jun 1826 in Greene County. Mary Ann was my g-grandmother. Her first marriage was to James HARWOOD, who later died. Her second marriage was to William J. ADAMS (my g-grandfather). Two children from Mary Ann's first marrage to James HARWOOD (Sarah and John), married two DAVIDSON children (Joseph and Louisa). Does any of this ring a bell with anyone?

These are some of families, that I am researching with ties to Greene county,TN. I am especially in Catrina McGEE,she is my ggggrandmother. She married Solomon WILLHOITE ON June 13, 1808. They had four childern: William, Isaac, Susanna and Margaret. I would like to know the names of Catrina's parents and any other useful information for the McGEE's family.I would like some information for Solomon and Catrina son, Isaac, who married Catherine BIRD on January 1, 1833 in Greene County TN. In the Greene County, TN marriages,1783-l869, there is statement after listing the marriage of John GOURLEY and Catharine WILHOIT(widow of Isaac WILHOIT, drowned in river on Sun.) I would like to know more about Isaac death, also did other persons die with him. John and Catherine moved their families to Webster Co.Mo. in the 1850's. In 1860 census for Webster Co.MO., there were three Wilhoit's listed with John Gourley: Ephraim,Elizabeth, and Martha E.Wilhoit.

WRIGHT
I'm not sure if this is the right county. I'm looking for James WRIGHT, married to Nacy. James' father is said to have immigrated from Ireland. Apparently my grandfather, Cliff WRIGHT, was born in Tennessee around 1900, and James is Cliff's grandfather. Clarence or Charles (I think) is Cliff's father.
