New Bethel Church to the Knoxville Presbytery
and Charter Members
We a part of the citizens of Greene County having enjoyed the labours of various ministers of the C. Presbyterians Order. And the Lord having helped their labours among us till our number is such as will garantee to us a right to claim protection under the care of Presbytery, and we feeling willing to support the means of Grace as directed in the Book of Discipline.
We do petition the Knoxville Presbytery to receive us under her care to be known by the name of New Bethel Church and bounded as follows. South and west by Chuchy and Lick Creek and north by the road leading from the Boat yard Road to Williams Mill East by the Road leading from Jonesborough to Newport. We the Petitioners suscribe our names.
