For and in consideration of the sum of twenty five hundred and no/100 ($2,500.00) Dollars, $1500 of which is paid and the receipt of same is hereby acknowledged, and one thousand dollars of which is represented by a not in favor of J.A. Wisecarver, secured by deed in trust to J. A. Susong, trustee, on the real estate herein transferred, which indebtness, together with the deed in trust securing same, is assumed by the vendee herein, and will be discharged by him as the balance of the purchase price of the real estate herein conveyed, and he so assumes and agrees to pay by the acceptance of this deed, we M.D. Guthrie and wife, Mabel Guthrie, have this day bargained and sold, and do hereby transfer and convey unto A.A. Guthrie two certain tracts or parcels of land, situated in the 4th (formerly 6th) civil district of Greene County, Tennessee, being portions of land known as the Jesse Rader farm, and more particularly described as follows:
Tract No. 1: Beginning on an iron stake, at side of road, corner to Riley, and running N 64 E 83 poles to a persimmon; N 74 E 17 poles to a locust post; thence N 26 W 35 2/5 poles to corner stake; then S 74 1/2 W 75 2/5 poles to stake in road; then with road S 11 E 15 1/5 poles to a stake; then S 22 W 32 poles to a rock; then S 38 E 11 poles to the beginning, containing 22 1/2 acres, more or less.
Tract No. 2: But being lot no. 4 of recent survey subdivided for sale of the above described land, beginning on the corner stake and also beginning corners to lots 2 and 3 and running S 26 E 35 2/5 poles to locust post in Riley's line; then with said line N 74 E 81 poles to a rock in the railroad line; then with line of railroad N 47 W 31 1/5 poles to rock; then with line of railroad 22 poles to corner Lot 3; then S 63 W 63 1/5 poles to the beginning, containing 18 acres, more or less.
To have and to hold said lots or parcels of land to the said A.A. Guthrie, his heirs and assigns, forever. We covenant that we are lawfully seized and possessed of said land, have good and lawful right to convey the same, and that it is unencumbered, except by the before mentioned deed in trust securing the $1000.00 note in favor of J.A. Wisecarver, which is expressly assumed by the vendee herein as a part of the purchase price of this land. We further covenant and bind ourselves, our heirs and representatives to forever warrant and defend the title to said real estate against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.

Personally appeared before me, J.S. Wisecarver a Notary Public in and for said County and State, the within named M.D. Guthrie and wife, Mabel Guthrie, the bargainers, with whom I am personally acquainted, and who acknowledged that they executed the within instrument for the purposes therein contained.
And Mabel Guthrie, wife of the said M.D. Guthrie having appeared before me, privately and apart from her husband, the said Mabel Guthrie acknowledged the execution of the said instrument to have been done by her freely, voluntarily, and understandingly, without compulsion or constraint from her husband, and for the purposes therein expressed. Witness my hand and official seal, at Mohawk, Tenn. This 20th day of August 1925.
