Lonzo Wesley (Wes) Snell, 79, a retired Forest area farmer, died at 1:10 p.m. yesterday in a Rockville, Ind., hospital. He had been in failing health for two years.

A native of Forest, he had lived in Clinton County almost his entire life and had farmed in the Forest area prior to retirement. He was a trustee of the Forest Baptist Church.

Born Dec. 11, 1881, he was the son of Jefferson and Suan Jane Snell. He married Zettie Nolan on Dec. 11, 1902, and she survives. Surviving with her are three sons, Norman Snell, Vero Beach Fla, R. G. Snell, Frankfort and Arthur Snell, Kirklin; two daughters, Mrs. Stella Curts, Frankfort, and Mrs. Flossie Arnold Williamsport; 27 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. One daughter, Bethel, preceded him in death.

Funeral services have been set for 1 p. m. Friday (CST) from the Forest Baptist Church, with the Rev. Earl Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Veneman Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Lowery-Fogelsong Funeral Home (?) 4 p. m. Wednesday. The remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
