Ruth D. Rohrer

Ruth Bible Dever Rohrer, age 85, passed away in her home in Portsmouth, Virginia, June 4, 2004.

She was born in Akron, Summit County, Ohio, on May 19, 1919, to Earl Bible and Hildreth Helen Beverage Dever.

She was raised by her Grandparents Coe and Sadie Irene Lightner Beverage in Pocahontas County. She was a graduate of Marlinton High School, in Marlinton, and Dunsmore Business College in Staunton, Virginia. She worked for J.C. Penney's at Mid-City for 21 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Rohrer who died in 1989. And by her son-in-law, Jerry L. Champion in 1997.

She is survived by her three daughters Betty Champion, Mary Jane Smith, Ruth Ann Williams; and her son Earl Dennis Rohrer; she also has 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday in Greenlawn Mausoleum Chapel by the Rev. Tom Potter. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
