TALLADEGA - Graveside service for Charles Dee Russell, 84, will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Midway Memory Gardens Cemetery. Burial will be in the Garden of Honor with full military services.
Mr. Russell died Nov. 4 at Sunset Inn in Talladega. He was a native of Greenville [sic], Tenn., lived in Box Springs, Ga., for 40 years and was a resident of Talladega for the past several months. He was retired from the U.S. Army and served in World War II and the Korean War. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jessie Ortiz; and brothers, Henry Russell, Everett Russell, Virgil Leon Russell, Jasper Russell and John Russell.
He is survived by daughters, Lena Ramona Bryan of Tipton, Ga., Delores Jean Carden of Georgetown, Tenn., and Wanda Mathis of Talladega; stepdaughters, Brenda Griffin of Georgetown, Tenn., and Connie Russell and Beverly Russell; half sister, Nellie Hindman of Harrison, Tenn.; brothers, George Edward Russell of Chattanooga, Tenn., and David Russell of Trenton, Ga.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The military will serve as pallbearers.
Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home will direct the service.
