Benny H. Ballard, 77, of the Warrensburg community, died Saturday morning 07-12-2003, at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
He was retired from BASF at Lowland.
Mr. Ballard was a member and deacon of Warrensburg Baptist Church.
He was awarded a 50-year membership pin from both the Warrensburg Lodge #631 F&AM, and Warrensburg Chapter #447, Order of Eastern Star. He was also a member of Warrensburg Community Center.
His family noted that he loved to sing in the choir at church.
He was the widower of Dorothy Bible Ballard.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Linda and J.B. Marshall of Warrensburg; a granddaughter and her husband: Cindy and Tim Wisecarver; a great-granddaughter: Kristine Wisecarver; a great-grandson: Jay Wisecarver; a brother and sister-in-law: Buford and Carlie Ballard of Troy, Mich.; a sister and brother-in-law: Christine Lewis of Warrensburg and Eddie Lewis of Canada; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Dennis and Marjorie Bible of Morristown; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his fiancée: Marjorie Guinn.
He was a son of the late Chess and Charity Ballard.
The family received friends from 6-8 o’clock Sunday evening at Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service followed visitation at 8 o’clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Bernie Cagle and the Rev. Allen Brooks officiated. A committal service was held at 10:30 this morning in Bible Cemetery at Mohawk.
