Elmer E. Murr, 71, of 204 Woodbluff Road, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at his home.
Born in Newport, Tenn., he was a son of Martha Bible Murr Thompson of Anderson and the late Frank Murr. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, was the owner of E. E. Murr Real Estate and Appraisal, and a member of Laurens Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Pennington Murr of the home; his mother, Martha Bible Murr Thompson of Anderson; a daughter, Pam Murr Rogers and husband Roy of Laurens; two brothers, Richard Murr and wife Elaine of Anderson and Buddy Thompson and wife Kitty of Laurens; three sisters, Joyce Gravely and husband Larry and Gaynelle Williamson and husband Bill, all of Anderson, and Marcelle Sumner and husband Jerry of Greenville; and a grandson, Chad Rogers.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Laurens Church of God conducted by the Revs. Ossie Deese, Terry Wilkerson, and Ronnie Blackwell, and Mrs. Peggy Chesney, with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Harold Chesney, Ricky Robertson, Dan Mann, Dee Lindler, Michael Sumner and Jason Corley.
The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
