Walter Ellsworth Shaff

Walter Shaff, Nazarene pastor

Visitation for Walter Ellsworth Shaff, 81, of Kankakee, a Nazarene pastor, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort, Ind.

Mr. Shaff, a former resident of Frankfort, Ind., died Wednesday (May 26, 1993) at Riverside Medical Center, in Kankakee.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Earl Roustio will officiate.

Burial will be in the Bunnell Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene.

He was born Dec. 26, 1911, in Clinton County, Ind., the son of Walter E. and LaNora F. Boggs Shaff.

He married the former Sara Virginia Bible on Sept. 4, 1937. She died Dec. 7, 1979.

Surviving are a daugher, Ora Lee Parcell of Kankakee; two grandsons, Theodore and Joel Parcell, both at home.; two sisters, Lottie Long of Lafayette, Ind. and Mildred Mundell of Frankfort.

Five brothers and two sisters are deceased.

Mr. Shaff was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Frankfort.

A resident of Kankakee since October, 1992, he had pastored Nazarene churches in Redkey, Lebanon, and Attica, Ind.

He retired in 1957 from Nickle Plate Railroad where he had been employed as a boilermaker. He has also been the custodian of the Lincoln Elementary School in Frankfort.
