JOHN J. BIBLE, RETIRED ANTIQUE DEALER, DIES
John Jacob Bible, 78, of 1102 W. Jefferson St., a retired antique dealer, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at his home following a lingering illness.
He was born Oct. 12, 1885, at Cambria, the son of Enoch and Sarah (Townsend) Bible, Mr. Bible married the former Ella Atkins in 1909, and she died in 1952. In March 1960, he married Ruth Byler, who survives.
A member of the Methodist Church, he is also survived by three sons, Amadeus Bible of California, John L. Bible of Texas, and Enoch Bible of Lafayette; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Shaff of Frankfort and Mrs. Ruth Hengst of Thorntown; one brother Amos of Tipton; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Eller Chapel with Rev. Newton J. Gottschall officiating. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.
It was announced that friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday.
