Billy George Bible

Funeral services for Billy George Bible, 63, were conducted at 4 o'clock Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the First Baptist Church in Canyon with pastor Jim Hancock officiating. Interment followed at Dreamland Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Canyon.

A former resident of Canyon, Mr. Bible had moved to Alamosa, Colorado in the mid-1960s. He died at Alamosa, Colo. on Saturday, Nov.14.

He was born at White Fish Community in Donley County on Feb. 26, 1926. He was a retired farmer and an Army veteran.

He married Beulah L. Hammond in 1962 at Amarillo and was a member of the Gideons International, member of Masonic Lodge #730, on the board of directors for Great Southwest Life Insurance Company and member of College Heights Baptist Church of Alamosa, Colo.

Survivors include his wife, Beulah Bible; four daughters, Judy Cummins of Canyon, Martha Butz of Florissant, Mo., Melanie Shook of Greenville and Cheryl Sykes of Georgetown; two sons, Charles Sykes of Alamosa and George Bible of Bryan; a brother, James Bible of Wayside; and 18 grandchildren.

The family asked that memorials be to Gideons International, Cal Farley's Boys Ranch or Dreamland Cemetery Association.
