Homer Baker Taylor

Homer Baker Taylor, 81, of Burnet was born on Jan. 26,1919 in Kempner. [Lampasas, TX] Homer passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 30, 2000. Homer will be sadly missed. He was full of life and loved people and numbered his friends by his friends by his aquaintances.

Homer was one of 10 born to Mary Mallet Taylor and Brizzly Walter Taylor. He was married to Billie Lee Bibles from Dec. 20, 1944 for 56 years. Homer was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include his wife Billie Taylor, sons Michael Taylor Sr. and wife Mary, Richard (Bubba) Taylor and wife Louisa and Phillip Taylor and wife Bellinda, sister Johnnie Fae Turner and husband S.M. Turner, grand children, Michael Jr., Bobby, Rachel, Jessica and Randall and 2 great granddaughters Michayla and Alisa.

Homer was a member of First Baptist Church of Burnet. He was employed at Southwestern Graphite Company for 35 years and after retiring was employed at Hoover's as a gate attendant. He was a member of the Valley Lodge #175 of Burnet and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of Burnet Order of the Eastern Star #425. He proudly served his country in World War II serving 5 years with the Army in Pacific Campaign in Okinawa.

Funeral services were held Jan. at 2 p.m. at Edgar Funeral Home in Burnet. Pallbearers will be Gary Holland, Glenn Bibles, Donald Hibler, Bobby Taylor, Phil Taylor, Vernon Null, Michael Taylor Jr and Leroy Schooley.
