BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services for Jewel D. Bible, 95, will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2000 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Wellman Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Dwayne Moore, assisting will be Bro. Leland Crawford. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 2, 2000, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bible passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2000 at Pilgrim Manor North following a lengthy illness. She was born in Minden, LA and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Mrs. Bible was a seamstress, a devoted Christian who loved reading her bible. She also had a passion for needlepoint and crochet and was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by five daughters, Dorothy Ambrose, Marie Dragland and husband, Marvin, Marteal Jones and husband, Mervin, Mattie Lou Bible, Nell Copes and husband, Thomas; one son, William Leon "Bill" Bible; sixteen grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Edwards.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
