Myrtle D. Bible

Died: 09-06-2000 KNOXVILLE — Myrtle D. Bible, 92, formerly of Greeneville, died Wednesday at Little Creek Sanitarium in Knoxville.

She was a daughter of the late William R. and Sarah Alice Range McNeese. Her father was a Methodist Circuit Rider in East Tennessee and North Central Arkansas.

Mrs. Bible retired in 1975, a registered nurse with her most recent practice being in Greeneville. She began her career in 1929.

She was an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Greeneville prior to moving to Knoxville in 1983, where she was a member of Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Bible moved to Markhill Retirement Village in Sevierville in 1995 and attended First Presbyterian Church there. She returned to Knoxville in December 1999.

She was the widow of LeRoy B. Bible and was preceded in death by her 11 siblings.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: LeRoy B. Bible Jr., and his wife, Julie Bible, of Knoxville, and Carroll and Kathy Lynne Bible of Sevierville.; four grandchildren: Sarah Alice Miner, Jane Elisabeth Moore, William Lynne Bible, and Charles Micah Bible; and two great-grandchildren: Meredith Miner and Thomas Moore.

Due to her lifelong devotion to medicine, Mrs. Bible chose to provide her physical remains to the University of Tennessee Memphis Medical School.

A memorial service will be held at 7 o’clock Sept. 14 at Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church Greeneville, First Presbyterian Church Sevierville, or Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church in Knoxville.
