George Alvin Bible, 81, died Sunday morning in the Tulsa Sherwood Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the graveside in the Dewey Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Byington of the New Hope Indian Methodist Church officiating. Committal prayers and final rites will be under the direction of the Arnold Moore Funeral Service. Full military rites will be accorded Bible by the James H. Teel American Legion Post No.105.
Visitation will be in the Drawing Rooms of the Arnold Moore Funeral Residence until he is removed to the graveside for final rites on Wednesday morning.

Bible was born at Alluwe on April 12, 1919 to George Lewis and Lacy (McKay) Bible. In 1924, the Bible family moved to Copan where he was reared and received his education. Following his graduation from high school, he worked in the oil fields and as a welder. In 1938 he married the former Gwendolyn LeClaire at Sedan, Kan. He enlisted in the US Army in April, 1944 and served in the European Theatre Operations as a paratrooper and served until his honorable discharge in November 1945. After his discharge from the military he returned to the Washington County area where he was once again employed in the welding profession. He later became a barber in the Dewey community before moving to Tulsa where he was a barber for over 20 years until his retirement in 1980. He has continued his retirement in Tulsa since that time and has been in the business of small engine repairs from his home. He moved to the Sherwood Manor Nursing Home in August of this year where he remained until his death on Sunday morning.
Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. James R. (Connie Lee) Edwards of Bartlesville; a son, Nathan D., of Costa Mesa, Calif; 13 grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; a great grandson; and a sister, Mrs. Owassa N. (Bible) Berry of Tulsa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, George Donald "Don" Bible in 1998; and two brothers, Morris Lee and Fred D. Bible.
