Dorothy Ayers

TELFORD, Tenn. — Dorothy I. Ayers, 76, died Monday (Oct. 25, 1999) at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Greene County and the daughter of the late Issac and Della Ricker Bible. Mrs. Ayers was a homemaker and retired from Magnavox in Greeneville. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by one brother, J.D. Bible and two grandchildren, Corey Ayers and Stanley Clevinger.

Surviving are six sons and daughters-in-law, Floyd Ayers and wife, Deborah, Clyde Ayers, all of Limestone, Gene Ayers and wife, Linda and Kenneth Ayers, all of Jonesborough, Charles "Buck" Ayers and wife, Frances and Phil Ayers, all of Telford; two daughters and son-in-law, Charlotte Clevinger and husband, Ernest "Red", Kingsport and Janice Moore, Johnson City; two brothers, Tommy Bible, White Pine, Tenn. and Dewey Bible, Idaho; nine sisters, Ruby Lynch, Hazel McNeese, Audrey Casteel and Glennis Burns, all of Baileyton, Dollie Moore, Del Rio, Tenn., Georgia Strong, Moshiem, Gladys Moore, Vera Derayne and Nancy Bowers, all of Greeneville; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Don Hilton and Mr. Larry Cox officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Washington County Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Tony Clevinger, Joe Lynch, Todd Ayers, Brad Ayers, Leroy Lynch, James Moore, Eddie Ayers and Donnie Moore.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Ayers to the National Kidney Foundation of East Tennessee, P.O. Box 1135, Blountville, Tenn. 37617.
