Loyd Bible

Services for long time Chelsea resident Loyd Bible will be held at 10:30am Aug 24,1999 at Chelsea First Baptist Church Burial will be in Chelsea Cemetary under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith.

Loyd died early Saturday morning at Colonial care center at the age of 79. The son of James Edward and Mary Ard Bible was born July 24,1920 in Welch, Ok. He was one of 10 children. The Bible Family moved to the Chelsea area in 1925 and Loyd attended Sunnyside school. He and Ruby Irene Womack were married March 29,1941 in Chelsea Ok. They made their home in the Waller area. He was a farmer stockman and worked for J.R. Oil company of Nowata and Oologah-Talala Gas Co.

He was a family man whose life was his six children and later his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed attending their sporting events and taught many of them how to drive.

The Bible Family has had a reunion every year for about 45 years in Creede, Colo. Loyd looked forward to the Chelsea Jamboree parade every fall when he and his old mule Pearl were participants He was a member of the Baptist faith at Cherokee central .

He is preceeded in death by his parents, brother Everett; sister Leona Crowe; and grandson Slade Edward Bible

Survivors are his wife Ruby; sons James Edward and Sue; Denver Loyd and Mary Lu; Kenneth Gene and Wanda; Everett Leon and Sandy and Tommy Dale and Jennie all of Chelsea. Daughter Mart Joyce and Paul Bates of Chelsea; 17 Grandchildren , 21 Great- grandchildren. Brothers Leo and Viola Bible, Kenneth and Dixi Bible of Vinita Ok., and Hugh Bible of Chelsea; sisters Osena Frits of Chelsea, Ester Land of Vinita Ok, Dorothy Smith of Adair, Ok. and Florence and Troy Griffen of Oklahoma City Ok.
