Zella Kate Bible

Died: 07-27-2000 Zella Kate Bible, 88, of Cherokee Estates, died Thursday night at Takoma Adventist Hospital.

Mrs. Bible was a director of the Senior Citizens Center on Simpson Street and formerly the owner/operator of Bibles IGA Grocery.

She was a member of Whittenburg United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Bible was the widow of Otis Bible and a daughter of the late Bascom and Lydia Jackson Sauceman. She was preceded in death by her son, Bob Bible.

Survivors include three grandsons and special granddaughters-in-law: Bobby L. Bible Jr., and his wife, Lisa Bible, of Greeneville, Ronnie and Anita Bible of Greeneville, and Scotty and Christine Bible of Phoenix, Ariz.; a granddaughter: Brenda Bible of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three sisters and a brother-in-law: Virginia Ottinger and Selma Overbay, and Sue and Denver Fillers, all of Greeneville; several great-grandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and a special friend: Joy Martin of Limestone.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today at Kiser Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Whittenburg UM Church with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dan Palmer, the Rev. Dolphus Cutshaw, the Rev. Edward King, and the Rev. Buster Shelton will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Overbay, Fred Overbay, Gary Overbay, Larry Hogan, and Fred Sauceman Jr.
