Tidbits of info: As some of you know, we (the co-editors) have amassed a huge amount of information on the early Bible family in America, thanks to the generosity of others. However, since the majority of information is undocumented and sometimes contradictory, we want to verify as much of the data as possible. We started with some of the documentation we did receive. Bridgett went looking for further information on the Bible baptisms at the New Hanover Lutheran Church in Montgomery Co., PA and Terri looked for confirmation of the European origins of our immigrant ancestor, Hans Adam Biebel. We were also attempting to find more information about his wife, whom records we had listed as one "Eve Ryan", although no one seemed confident about that. We were independently introduced to a new source of information by people who were professionals in German immigrant genealogy. We submit this information to you now . Annette K. Burgert is a highly qualified and respected genealogist whose bailiwick is Western European Emigration and is experienced at deciphering old handwriting and documents. She has researched and written several books regarding this subject. One of these books, Eighteenth Century Emigrants from the Northern Alsace to America, states the following: A John Adam Biebel from Goersdorf (a little town outside of Woerth) arrived aboard the Sandwich in 1750. The European records from the Preuschdorf Lutheran KB (Church records) indicate that a Georg Bibel, son of Mathis Bibel, citizen at Goersdorf, m. 11 May 1723 Maria Eva, daughter of Christoph Burckhardt, citizen and mastersmith and Gerichtsschoffen (mayor) at Presuschdorf. Their son was: John Adam b. 2 Apr 1728.
Adam Biebel, single son of Hans Georg |
In the New Hanover Lutheran Church KB, Montgomery CO, PA., It shows that Adam Biebel and wife Eva had the following children:
We welcome your comments and suggestions.

Please send us your interesting facts that you have run across in your research to be printed in the next issue. Deadline for submissions Aug 1, 1996.
Birth Dates An idea I (Bridgett) had was to put into each issue the birth dates of the Bible clan that would occur during the 3/4 month period this newsletter covers. I have amassed well over 800 names pertaining to Bible in my database, and have retrieved them for this purpose. These will be dates of those that are with us and those that are watching over us. This issue will cover June through August (of the one's I know about). If you have any to submit for September through November, please have them in before August 1, 1996, thanks ! June Birthdays

The Family Bible is published 3/4 times a year. It is published for the benefit of all who are interested in and researching the surname BIBLE. Subscription: E-mail subscriptions are free, but come in plain text, nothing fancy. Postal Copies will be gratis for one year from February 1996, after which the fees will be established as to what it has cost us for supplies to send this to you (in other words, we don't know what the cost is at this time, but will keep it as nominal as possible). Of course, we will not turn down any contributions you may feel like sending us to help defray the expenses. To subscribe: Send either editor an e-mail letter to their e-mail address, with your name, e-mail address, postal address (in case your e-mail address changes), and your direct lineage (optional, but it would be nice).
For postal delivery: Same as above, except of course no e-mail address. Postal & email addresses below. Bridgett Edwards Schneider 3101 N. 41st Street Lincoln, NE 68504 Terri Bible Strotman 1028 S.
